Premarital sex is any sexual activity with an opposite
sex partner or with a same partner before he or she has started a married life.
Some people think that there is nothing wrong if both agreed and really loves
each other then premarital sex is morally acceptable. Some people think that couples
should be waited until marriage before having sex, if they had first sex before
marriage is immorality. Some people said that this is a way to express the
loves. However, there are many ways to express love; sex is not the only way. Love
is waiting and respect.
Premarital sex is so common in western society
especially in United States. If you were virgin, people will just laughing on
you and shame on you. As study shows, in the United States, every year about
one million girls aged 15 to 19 pregnancies. The age of 17 pregnant girls
giving birth to babies with more than 80% and then the living cost supported by
social welfare payment, a year spent $21 billion. Christians are strongly against
it, they believe that god designed sex to be enjoyed within a committed marital
relationship. People are more open towards premarital sex than previous generation
nowadays. Modern lifestyle has opened multiple opportunities for boys and gals
to interact closely and deeply in public and private. They have ample chances
to experiment the sexuality which they witness through internet and
televisions. Sex in itself is not wrong at any age, but premarital sex may harm
the mental development of adults in several forms.
Is it alright to have premarital sex? This is a common
question among teens and engaged couples. There is always has pros and cons in
your mind when come to this topic. On the positive side of the scale, there is
acceptance from your peers, hope for pleasure and the fulfillment of sexual
desires. However, the negative side of the scale carries the weights of morals,
fear of pregnancy and disease and guilt. So how do these scales balance? What is
the right decision? For my opinion, premarital sex is does not means moral or
immoral but it all about a responsibility to a new baby life and also the respect
to a relationship and the partner. Premarital sex can caused variety of social
problem.
Most of the people having premarital sex are to
satisfy the sexual of desires. Everyone realizes having sex before marriage can
have dangerous consequences. Even condoms and other “safe sex” devices, there is
still a chance of pregnancy and suffer from a disease such as AIDS, Herpes etc.
More than 60,000 cases of AIDS have been reported in the United States since
1981 and as many as 90,000 Americans may be infected with HIV. Once again “safe
sex” does not offer 100% protection from these diseases. Premarital sex in
general has occurred in students and those without a stable source of community
among the youths. They have sex because sex is something curious for them and
they will not be responsible or in any obligation. Premarital sex is a major cause
of abortion problem. It is an irresponsible sexual behavior. There is number of
babies been aborted and dumped by their mothers because the young mothers
cannot bear the burden. Men said if you love me then you should give me
everything. Sex is not the way to show how much a person loves his or her
partner. I believe that if your partner loves you, he or she will never has sex
before marriage because he or she knows that is a responsibility in a relationship
and it shows the respect to each other.
The most vulnerable person in such relationship is the
woman. Some of them even believed that sex can helps to maintain or patch up a
broken relationship. In fact, statistics can overwhelmingly prove that man has
often cheated innocent women in premarital sex. Girls who eventually end up
pregnant after having premarital sex are forced to face the harsh realities of
having a baby at a young age. They also forced to face themselves been dumped
by the one they loved so much. If a young girl becomes pregnant, she places
herself and her unborn child at a further risk. When comes to reality, they would
either be forced to raise the child or to abort the child. Unfortunately, the majority
of women will decide to abort the child because they are not ready to become a
mother to take care of the baby. They take the child as burden which stops them
to achieve their dreams life in future.
Premarital sex can even damage your future marriage. Statistics
can overwhelmingly prove that man or women prefer their future partner as a
virgin although the messages we receive from most TV shows and movies these
days tells us “everyone is doing it.” Lovemaking as a present of marriage to
your future partner, it shows trust and respect to each other. If you are
having premarital sex then what you left over to your future husband and wife? After
engaging in premarital sex, many people express feeling of guilt,
embarrassment, distrust, resentment, lack of respect, tension and so much more.
Premarital sex is almost a form of abuse, as the partners are using each other
without making the commitment of lifelong trust and love. Premarital sex brings
about many negative consequences. Therefore, youths nowadays should try to stay
away from pre-marital sex in order to protect their emotional and physical
health. Avoid to have premarital sex is to give the chances yourself not to
guilty or regret from mistakes.
